It's time to sign up for Summer Session! Whether you're behind in coursework or planning to graduate early, enrolling in summer courses at VWU gives you the opportunity to accomplish your goals in a cost-effective way. Both online and traditional courses are available to accommodate your plans. It's a great opportunity to explore study-away courses, too. Destinations such as Costa Rica, Alaska, and New York are offered. Additionally, there are many internship and externship opportunities that can earn you college credit. Board Meeting Room in Progress

Work has begun on the renovation of the Board of Trustees room (Shafer Room) in the private dining wing of the Boyd Dining Center. Urban Design of Virginia Beach is overseeing the project.

Omicron Delta Kappa Induction Ceremony

It was an honor to attend the 2019 Omicron Delta Kappa Induction Ceremony Monday evening in the Jacklyn and Raymond D. Pearce Suite. This national leadership honor society recognizes not only academic achievement but also leadership across five phases of campus life: scholarship; athletics; community service, social or religious activities, and campus government; journalism, speech and the mass media; creative and performing arts. 

Virginia Wesleyan's Circle of ODK was installed on April 5, 1981. Membership in this society is regarded as one of the highest collegiate honors that can be awarded to an individual. In order to be selected, one must be in the top 35 percent of students on their respective campuses and hold a leadership role in one of the five phases of campus life mentioned above. The spring 2019 inductees join an impressive list of current ΟDΚ members made up of VWU Board of Trustees members, faculty, staff, and students.

Ask Me Anything on Wednesday!

Ask me anything about Virginia Wesleyan University! I'll be answering questions from the new Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center during a Facebook Live chat at 7 p.m. this Wednesday, April 3. The session will be hosted by 2005 Virginia Wesleyan graduate Jason Seward, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at the University. Joining me for a special guest panel will be Maynard Schaus, soon-to-be Vice President for Academic Affairs; Travis Malone, Dean of the Susan S. Goode School of Arts and Humanities, and Tina Hill, Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

President's Letter: A Very Goode Evening

Saturday evening, 15 months after we broke ground on a chilly day in December 2017, we dedicated and celebrated the official opening of the Susan S. Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center. It was a night to remember indeed. This transformational event was the first big step in the creation of a long-awaited arts complex for Virginia Wesleyan. And what a magnificent beginning it was!
