The Harbinger, the name of other traditional publications in Bethany history, is a literary magazine of poems, prose, and short stories published through Bethany College. A student is selected each year to be the editor of the Harbinger. The fall release date of the 2014 edition of the Harbinger was October 5, 2014. The editor of this past edition was Senior Fellow of the English Department, Khristian Smith.
For the upcoming 2015 edition of the Harbinger, Catherine Breault has been selected as the new student editor. Submissions for the Harbinger can be made to either Catherine at her email cbreault@bethanywv.edu or to Dr. Janeshek at her email jjaneshek@bethanywv.edu . The submissions to the Harbinger can vary and students may submit more than one work. There is a different theme each year for the literary magazine. The theme is based on the submitted entries. Students are encouraged to submit their work, gain confidence in their writing skills, and achieve recognition as distinguished writers.
