The Lasting Legacy of Alice and Lambuth Clarke

Such a pleasure for Annie and me to welcome Alice Clarke to campus today as we celebrated members of the Clarke Heritage Society. The society is named for Alice and her late husband Lambuth, president of Virginia Wesleyan from 1966 to 1992, who planted many of the seeds of Wesleyan’s future success. We thank Alice for her continued support and remain grateful to the Clarke's for their inspiring legacy.
