The Bethany Department of Athletics and Recreation inducted five new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame and recognized outstanding student athletes from the class of 2013 during a banquet Friday evening as well as during a pre-game ceremony on Saturday.

With long-time friends and colleagues Jake Schrum, President of Emory & Henry College, and Richard Ekman, President of the Council of Independent Colleges, at the Council of Independent Colleges/New York Times Presidents Council Meeting at the New York Times offices. Thirty-one private college presidents serve on the Council.

Bethanian Don Blashford ('76) of Publicis Groupe USA is interviewed on WVBC before doing a guest talk in Dr. Pat Sutherland's CMA class Friday. Samantha Schott (operations manager) and James Peterson of WVBC are conducting the interview. WVBC aired Bethany v. Carnegie Mellon University Homecoming game at 2 p.m.
Good to see a number of Bethanians at the brunch hosted by the Oglebay Foundation at the stables at Oglebay Resort. The location is the competition venue and home for Bethany equestrian club competition. The Bison hosted 13 colleges and universities in today's competition. With Adam Fletcher and Judy Allison before the start of the Allison Run Saturday morning. The run is held each year to raise funds for the Jim Allison Scholarship. Adam was a a former star student of Professor Allison, who was inspired to return to teach in the math department.




Pleased to honor Greg and Ellen Jordan (both 1981) with the naming of Jordan Hall -- a residence hall in Campbell Village. The Jordans are wonderful friends and supporters of Bethany College.


With former Student President's Office Associate Annie Wilson ('12) and Audra Droginske ('12) -- both former standout basketball players for the Bison -- at the Allison Run. Annie now lives in Arlington, VA. Audra is soon to relocate to Florida.
A standing ovation for our dear friend and colleague Dr. Larry Grimes, the inaugural speaker in the endowed Larry Grimes Lecture Series. Alumni and friends raised over $110,000 for the endowment. The lecture was held in the Academic Parlour of Old Main.
