As we continue to strengthen our internal processes and external
outreach in service to all of our constituents, I am pleased to announce the following
administrative appointments in support of these goals.
Dr. Mort Gamble, who joined us as Vice President for Advancement
earlier this year, has been appointed Senior Vice President (Advancement and
External Relations). His experience working as an advancement vice president at
three other institutions, as well as managing major-gift communications for
former George Washington University President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg, will
be helpful as we increase funding support and broaden our outreach to external
constituencies.
In addition to serving as Associate Vice President for
Advancement, Suzanne Savage will manage Board of Trustee relations. Her valuable
years of experience in major gifts and the accompanying respect she has earned
among our Trustees commend her for this central role in Board administration, development,
and communication.
Stephanie Smaglo, who has served as the lead writer in Marketing
and Communications, will assume duties for communication strategies and
executive initiatives in my office as Assistant to the President. We welcome Stephanie’s
strength in communications and publications, as well as her expertise in online
technologies.
Laynee Timlin has been appointed Executive Director of College
Relations and Strategic Planning, and will continue to head up the team of
Marketing and Communications. Laynee’s experience in the areas of communication
and planning, as well as in central administration, provides needed perspective
as we go forward strategically.
