Alaskan Study Away

Several Virginia Wesleyan students are in Alaska this summer studying complex environmental issues and solutions under the leadership of Professors Larry Hultgren and Elizabeth Malcolm and VWU alumnus Scott Ramsey '90, an instructor at the Alaska Outdoor Science School—and son of Doc Ramsey, who taught sociology at Virginia Wesleyan for many years! Along for the Summer Session trip are students Montana Bieder '17, Austin Edmonds '20, Amanda Gerni '19, Quennita Lensey '18, Valerie Wilburn '17, and Dr. Hultgren's wife, Mary Lou, who taught sociology and anthropology at Virginia Wesleyan.
