I
enjoyed hosting a Faculty Roundtable recently at our beautiful new
Frank Blocker Youth Center. It was an excellent opportunity for our
faculty members to learn more about Tidewater Collegiate Academy and the
value it brings to our campus, as well as a time for me to answer
important questions about issues facing higher education in this region
and beyond.
Each year, Inside Higher Ed conducts a survey
that seeks to understand how college and university presidents view
opportunities and challenges facing American higher education. The 2018
findings were recently released, and along with them, a wide array of
articles analyzing the information. I found a blog by the Edvance
Foundation, published March 18, to contain a helpful summary of the
findings:
Edvance Foundation: What College Presidents Think of Future of Higher Education
The survey is also published in full on the Inside Higher Ed
website. I hope you find this information helpful. We are doing
extremely well at Virginia Wesleyan University; however, as I have
cautioned before, we must continue to focus on best practices in
enrollment, fundraising, and fiscal operation as we also plan for
innovation and growth across all sectors of our University.
