VFIC Ethics Bowl Opening Dinner

Enjoyable Sunday afternoon and evening in Lynchburg as Virginia Wesleyan University opened the Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges Ethics Bowl with two impressive wins. 

Pictured with Marlins Criofan Shaw, Alex Powers, and Anitra Howard, and VFIC President Matt Shank. The VWU squad is made up entirely of Batten Honors College scholars. Loren Marquez, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs; Steven Emmanuel, Professor of Philosophy; and April Christman, Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Loren and April are serving as acting coaches of the VWU team. Steven is a long time member of the VFIC Ethics Bowl Committee. 

Sunday's Ethics Bowl Dinner included a tribute to long time friend and colleague, Ken Garren, who will be retiring this year after 19 years as president of the University of Lynchburg.
