September 16, 2016
This weekend provides yet another opportunity to experience the Arts at VWC.
Sandi Billy,
director for The Center for Sacred Music, has shared that The Center joins
with the Virginia Chorale to
present the voices of Jewish composers through the ages. Charles Woodward, a VWC alumnus, leads
the professional ensemble in 18th-century madrigals by Salomone
Rossi, grand 19th century liturgical classics, folksongs from
Israel, and Aaron Copland’s “In the
Beginning,” featuring renowned mezzo-soprano Robynne Redmon, a VWC alumna. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 17, at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach
and for Sunday, September 18, at
4:00 p.m. at Ohef Sholom Temple
in Norfolk.
The latest brochure
for The Arts at VWC provides a complete listing of The Center for Sacred Music
happenings and Virginia Wesleyan College music, art and theatre events from
September 2016 – May 2017. Thanks to the VWC Music, Art, and Theatre
Departments for planning a year of outstanding programming for our campus.
Kudos to Sandi, who is also the artistic director for the Arts at VWC, for all
she does to coordinate and promote these noteworthy events. Learn more about the Arts at VWC on our
