Nota Bene: “A Feast of Languages” Opens in the Neil Britton Gallery

September 12, 2016

I’m pleased to share that the opening for the first exhibit in the Neil Britton Gallery for the fall semester was held on Thursday evening. “A Feast of Languages” is an exhibition of works by local artists active in Norfolk’s NEON Arts District and the ViBe Creative District in Virginia Beach.

According to VWC’s Batten Associate Professor of Art and Coordinator of Art Exhibitions John Rudel, these talented artists have “prepared a great ‘feast’ of artistic riches, created on site, reminding us of the richness which surrounds the campus in its prime location on the border of these creative communities.” The exhibition borrows its title from Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labour’s Lost” which explores the power and limitation of language.

This exhibition will be in the Neil Britton Gallery through December 9, and I encourage you to visit the gallery to see it. Special thanks to John for coordinating our exhibits on campus.
