Last week Annie and I had the distinct pleasure of spending an evening at the College of William and Mary to honor Virginia Wesleyan Board Treasurer Anne Shumadine as the recipient of the T.C. and Elizabeth Clarke Medallion. Many of Anne’s family and friends, as well as members of the Virginia Wesleyan community, attended the March 28 dinner, where Anne was recognized for her professionalism and integrity, her distinguished career and contributions to business management. A highlight of the evening was the beautiful remarks offered by Jane Batten, Anne’s long-time friend and a Trustee Emerita of the College. Earlier in March, Anne was celebrated as one of North America’s foremost leaders in wealth management and chosen as “Best Multi-Family Office Executive” at the Family Wealth Report 2017 Awards Dinner. Virginia Wesleyan is most fortunate to benefit from Anne’s knowledge and expertise, and we thank her for her commitment and dedication to the success of our institution.
