Phi Eta Sigma was founded in 1923 at the University of Illinois with a mission to encourage and reward academic excellence among freshmen at institutions of higher learning. Since its founding, more than 1.1 million scholars have been inducted into Phi Eta Sigma chapters on 378 campuses across the United States. Our own Virginia Wesleyan chapter was founded 35 years ago, in 1983, and today consists of approximately 180 active student members.
I’d like to thank Jason Seward, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, and the many faculty and staff who have supported this society. You have generously shared your time and energy to advance this organization, and we value your contributions.
Congratulations to these 29 newest Phi Eta Sigma members, and best wishes for continued success during your time at Virginia Wesleyan. May you continue to benefit from all that our campus has to offer, and may you enjoy your journey through these life-defining years.
