Enjoyable social at DeFord Manor tonight with parents of scholars competing for one of the coveted spots in the Batten Honors College. At the social, I was delighted to learn that one of our best, Batten Honors College senior Connor Merk (center) has been accepted into the master of public policy program at Pepperdine University. A native of Stafford, Virginia, Connor is the best of the best -- serving as editor of the student newspaper and leader of the student investment team. He is majoring in political science and business at VWU. Travis Malone, Dean of the BHC, joined us for the picture.
