I enjoyed visiting with Risa Yanagita and her parents at a reception we hosted for Lakeland University Japan / VWU Global Campus graduates at DeFord Manor. Thirty three years ago, David Black, left, as President of then Lakeland College, founded Lakeland College Japan. Three years ago, he facilitated an equity partnership in the campus now called Lakeland University Japan / VWU Global Campus. He now serves as Chancellor of the joint venture and Executive-in-Residence at VWU. Risa established herself as a top student and leader.
