Swimming
More Records Fall on Final Day of ODAC Swimming Championships
The Virginia Wesleyan University men's and women's swim teams wrapped up the 2021 ODAC Championship meet with the men finishing 6th (167 Pts.) and the women 5th (204.40 Pts.). Six school records went down as the Marlins swam fast times in the Liberty Natatorium.

Marlins Defeat the Ferrum Panthers Behind Two Goals From Ryan Westpfahl
The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team opened their season with a 2-0 win over the Panthers of Ferrum College on senior day for the Marlins. VWU improves to 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in ODAC competition while FC is 0-1 and 0-1. Seniors Julie FasslMallory LangfordJenna Whitener, and Hayden Thornbrugh were honored prior to the contest. 
Women's Soccer
Women's Soccer Defeats Emory & Henry 2-0 at Hampden-Sydney
The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team defeated the Wasps of Emory & Henry College 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in a neutral site contest at Hampden-Sydney College in Hampden-Sydney, VA. The Marlins move to 2-1-0 with the same ODAC record, while the Wasps are now 0-3-0, also with the same ODAC record.
Men's Soccer
Men's Soccer Falls 4-0 at Lynchburg
The Virginia Wesleyan University men's soccer team fell to the Hornets from the University of Lynchburg 4-0 in Lynchburg, VA. The Marlins move to 0-2-2 while the Hornets are now 2-0-1.
Softball
Marlins Defeat Pfeiffer but Fall to Salisbury in Split Doubleheader at TowneBank Park
The No. 4 Virginia Wesleyan softball team defeated the Falcons of Pfeiffer University in game one but fell to the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University in game two on Sunday afternoon at TowneBank Park in Virginia Beach, VA. The Marlins move to 10-1 while the Falcons are now 5-5 and the Sea Gulls move to 2-3. 
Men's Basketball
Virginia Wesleyan Basketball Cancels Remainder of 2021 Season
The Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball ended shy of the ODAC men's tournament as the team is following school and ODAC pandemic protocols. The Marlins concluded the shortened 2021 season with a 3-5 overall record and a 3-1 ODAC mark. 
Women's Basketball
Marlin's Season Ends in ODAC Quarterfinals at Washington & Lee
The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell to the Generals of Washington and Lee 109-67 in the quarterfinal game of the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament. The Marlins season ends with a record of 5-7 overall and 4-4 against ODAC foes while the Generals move to 5-2 and 3-1 en route to punching their ticket to the ODAC Semifinals.
Men's Tennis
Marlin Men's Tennis Fall to Salisbury 8-1; Felix Bevec Earns First Career Singles Win at #2 Singles
The Virginia Wesleyan University men's tennis team fell to 0-2 today losing 8-1 to nationally ranked #33 Salisbury University. Freshman Felix Bevic claimed his first singles win as a Marlin by defeating Sea Gull senior Ian Siew in straight sets, 7-6 (7), 6-4; Siew was ranked #14 in last year's South Atlantic regional singles rankings.
Women's Tennis
Marlins Edged 5-4 in 4-Hour Thriller
The Virginia Wesleyan University women's tennis team dropped a heartbreaking 5-4 decision to Averett University on Sunday afternoon in Danville. With the match knotted at 4-4, sophomore Alexa Brewster dropped a decisive 3rd set to Averett's Louise Hovhammar, giving the Cougars the win over the Marlins in a 4-hour thriller.   
Baseball
Marlins Fall to Captains 12-4 in Sunday Baseball Action
The Virginia Wesleyan baseball team fell to the cross bay rivals the Captains of Christopher Newport University 12-4 on Sunday afternoon in Newport News, VA. The Marlins are now 0-6 on the season while the Captains are 3-1.
Women's Lacrosse
Marymount Women's Lacrosse Downs Marlins
The Virginia Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team fell to the Saints of Marymount University on Friday evening in nonconference action in Arlington, VA. VWU moves to 0-3 on the season while MU opens their season with a win.
Men's Lacrosse
Men's Lacrosse Falls in Season Opener Against St. Mary's College of Maryland
The Virginia Wesleyan men's lacrosse team fell to the Seahawks of Saint Mary's College of Maryland 19-2 in their season opener on Monday evening at Birdsong Field in Virginia Beach, VA. The Marlins move to 0-1 while the Seahawks are now 1-0.

The Virginia Wesleyan University Athletic Department is proud to honor and recognize its 127 student-athletes who have earned President or Dean's List honors for the Fall 2020 semester.

VWU Announces a Way to "Get in the Game!"
Virginia Wesleyan Athletics is providing fans the opportunity to be involved in the 2021 spring season remotely, as the athletic department has opened up the opportunity for fans to purchase cutouts to be placed at VWU Athletic Facilities throughout the 2021 spring season.

Virginia Wesleyan University Athletic Department Releases 2021 Outdoor Sports Spectator Policy
The Virginia Wesleyan University Athletic Department has composed its Outdoor Sports Spectator Policy for the 2021 season. Out of an abundance of caution and for the continued health and safety of our students, faculty and staff, Virginia Wesleyan University will extend the current policy of not allowing any fan and spectator attendance for all on-campus intercollegiate athletic related activity to include practices, competitions and meetings/events until further notice.
