In an effort to expand the reach of safety and security on campus, the President’s Cabinet has approved two recommendations made by an ad hoc committee that I appointed in December. These recommendations are explained below:

Assisting distribution of and registering vehicle parking permits;
Assisting with daily enforcement of parking regulations and locations;
Providing accurate information regarding vehicle registration and information regarding vehicles parked inappropriately on campus.

Position Requirements: The student must possess a high degree of personal integrity, be punctual, understand all campus parking and vehicle-registration policies and standards, and be able to work during the daytime hours of 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Partial shifts are welcome.

Student Safety Guide

The student work/study position will be supervised by the Director of Safety and Security. Primary responsibilities include:
Will work from the Security Office, providing walking escort for students wishing to have someone accompany them across campus;
Must not have any negative student-conduct records or infractions;
Must have the ability to walk across campus multiple times in an evening.

I thank the ad hoc committee for their outstanding work in defining these responsibilities in the interest of campus safety and security.
