At the conclusion of today's Virginia Wesleyan College Board of Trustees
meeting, Gary Bonnewell '79, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and I
recognized John Trinder as he retires from the Board. In recognition of
his many years of loyal service, the Trustees named John Trustee
Emeritus. John has had a significant impact on the College's athletics
programs. Through his leadership and support, the Trinder Center and
Foster Field opened in 1998 to provide a home for the men's and women's
lacrosse and men's and women's soccer teams.
